Bilancia Reserve Pinot Gris 2013
The 2013 growing season was one out of the box for Hawkes Bay and, as such, it gave us the perfect opportunity to make a Reserve Pinot Gris. The first time since 2008
A selected area of Black Bridge vineyard, by the coast at Haumoana, where the crop load is lower and the fruit is richer and more flavourful, was hand harvested in excellent condition. Whole bunch pressed then barrel fermented in very old barriques which are employed to build texture and structure rather than impart oak character to the finished wine.
The aromatics of this Reserve Pinot Gris are of Turkish delight and rose petals. The palate is full, rich, textural, and very food friendly.
This wine also has the capability to elevate in character and style with bottle age.
"....medium acidity, light creamy texture, balanced and well made with a longer finish."
