Bilancia Pinot Gris 2014
Another great vintage to follow on from the much acclaimed 2013 vintage.
Pinot Gris harvested in ideal condition. Pressed, cold settled, racked and then fermented slowly to retain the often subtle varietal fruit characters. There was also a small volume fermented in very old barriques. This is not done to add oak character but rather, to enhance the palate structure.
Gentle aromas of floral and fruit carrying through to a full and textural fruit palate. As always, texture is a very important character for Pinot Gris building from great fruit quality and attention to balance during winemaking. Pinot Gris often gets a raw deal, "white paint on white canvas" but we believe that attention to detail makes for interesting wine.
Enjoy the 2014 Pinot Gris on release but also be rewarded after a few years cellaring. This win will continue to develop for four - six years.
