The Mangatahi terraces were shaped by the Ngaruroro River approximately 15,000 years ago.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eTwo Terraces Vineyard Chardonnay is a part of our project to highlight some of the most unique, single vineyards in Hawke’s Bay. This vineyard is owned by Ian and Linda Quinn.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eThe soils here are a silt\/sand loam running to depths of 20-40cm and were laid down by the river's ancient flows, along with windblown loess and some volcanic influence from the North Island's Central Plateau. These soils sit above so-called alluvial red metals. Beautifully detailed and light on its feet; everything is perfectly balanced, giving the impression of effortless grace.
