From la collina vineyard, where eight rows of interplanted Viognier, Marsanne and Roussanne are hand-harvested and the breakdown is measured (approximately) in picking buckets. These eight rows are all that remain of the original Viognier vines planted in 2001. Over half the vines needed to be replaced in 2017 and the spaces between the remaining vines were replanted with Marsanne and Roussanne.
"Without the Viognier it's quite a different wine from 2020 and 2021; it's still floral, but it speaks of white fruit, fennel and thyme, fresh waffle, lemon pith and pressed linen. THe texture is clothy and saline, with dramatic width, underpinned by salty acidity.
I like it a lot. It makes sense. This is an excellent Rhone blend. Just 350 litres of this wine were bottled. That's tiny, but it's worth the seeking."

"A stunningly concentrated and complex wine, this possesses deep layers of white peach, crushed sugarcane, red apple and white pepper with floral accents of osmanthus and orchid, all wrapped in a fine cloak of subtle oak. Although still youthfully closed, there is undeniable quality and intensity here contained within its firmly-textured frame which turns powdery and chalky on the bone-dry finish. An orchestral wine which will reward several years in the cellar as it reveals the full extent of its powers."
